Invoicing suites make their money nudging you onto card processing. We earn the same either way — zero — so we have no nudge to give. Recording a check, a transfer, or cash is a first-class feature in Invoxium, not a workaround, and when optional card payments arrive, the cheapest way for you to get paid will still be the default.
Questions people actually ask
- Do you take a percentage of my payments?
- No. Invoxium's platform fee is 0% on every payment, and that's not an introductory rate — our entire revenue is the subscription on this page. Collecting $50,000 costs you exactly what collecting $500 does.
- How do my clients actually pay me?
- However you've already agreed to work: cash, a check, a bank transfer, anything else. You record the payment against the invoice and the status updates itself. Card payments are coming too, as an optional extra powered by Stripe — the money settles into an account in your own name, Stripe's processing fees go to Stripe, and Invoxium's share stays exactly 0%.
- A client paid part of an invoice. Can I record that?
- Yes. Record $500 against a $1,250 invoice and it becomes Partially paid; record the remaining $750 and it's Paid. Every payment stays on the invoice's record, so the history is provable later.
- What counts as a client?
- A person or business you bill. The Free plan covers 3 of them and 20 invoices a month — enough to run a real freelance practice on.
- Why the monthly invoice limits?
- Honesty about costs. Delivering invoices costs us real money in email, and a flat fee can't absorb literally any volume — so we publish deliberate limits instead of promising "unlimited" with fine print. These are launch numbers while we learn what real usage looks like: we expect to raise them, and expanding what you get is the only direction we plan to move. Regularly bumping into 200 a month? Email us — we'd rather grow your limit than get in your way.
- What is the "Powered by Invoxium" badge?
- A small credit line on the client-facing invoice page on the Free plan. Pro removes it, so your clients see only your business's name.
- What happens after the 30-day trial?
- Your organisation drops to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted. If you are over the 3-client limit, your account becomes read-only — you can always view and export your data, but you cannot create or send new invoices until you subscribe or reduce your client count.
- What if I cancel?
- Cancelling is not deletion. Your paid plan stays active through the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the same Free-plan rules apply. Your invoices and payment records remain intact and exportable.
- What if a payment to you fails?
- You keep full Pro access for a 7-day grace period while we retry. Fix the card in that window and nothing changes.
